Our Story

For the Love of the Game was founded by Alexandra Serek in 2013 with the mission of distributing softball equipment to kids who could not afford it. Our belief was every kid deserves the opportunity to be involved in sports, no matter their financial status. Over the years, For the Love of the Game distributed truckloads of equipment to communities across the country including those in New Jersey, South Carolina, Virginia, and Oregon. In 2020, our last truckload of equipment was sent to South America.

After 7 years of successful operation, a new direction was chosen. Catherine Serek proposed the concept of providing direct financial assistance through scholarships to female high school graduates continuing their education at colleges and universities. The Board unanimously approved the motion and moved to elect Cat to lead the new initiative. For the Love of the Game awarded it's first scholarship in 2020.
